oh man WHAT A GOOD LIST. I totally missed that Minseo song, and it’s so delightful! The choreo! Her voice! And yyyyy Siren was absolutely everything I wanted from Sunmi this year. Weird and a little scary and bubbly in the best way.

I love a good end-of-year list! So much so I’ve made multiple ones…going to start with female artists who I consistently loved throughout the year, whether that was over one album or across multiple comebacks.
Top 10 mvs of 2018 – women and girl groups
My top 10 girl groups and women solo artist MVs this year, in no particular order:
Minseo – Is Who
I L O V E how this plays with the idea of narrative. The choreo is super, her stage presence is amazing (this is technically her DEBUT) and this swinging, circusy vibe is perfect. The live stages are great too!
Sunmi – Siren
Slithering out of the bathtub and into your nightmares, in multiple guises, she’s just so beautiful and scary and I love the slightly retro sound and the breakdown omg. The stage choreo with the bars is rly effective too.
Oh My Girl – Secret Garden
I love how this is about finding magic in the mundane and it’s so pretty but also a LITTLE weird in the way the best OMG songs are. Also, their first EVER music show win! It was so, so long in coming, I’m gonna cry bc they deserve it so much.
Red Velvet – Bad Boy
Of course I could not pass this up. It’s just – peak RV, peak Seulgi, peak everything.
CLC – Black Dress
Witch vibes, girls in suits, THAT dance break, AND a haircut! – this mv had it all and the song goes so hard.
Mamamoo – Egotistic
One of my fave stan twt memories from this year is everyone having a collective fucking meltdown about this MV. It’s every bit as hot as u remember! Oh my god!!!
Khan – I’m Your Girl?
Euna and Minju this is your time, you deserve absolutely everything, this song is most charming thing and you should hold hands always, p.s. Never Forget The Ark
Melodyday – Restless
Possibly one of the most left field choices for this list? I just love this MV about a woman, tired from the working day, who escapes into a virtual reality where she dreams about – MAYBE killing an ex boyfriend? It’s beautifully put together and understatedly great.
fromis_9 – Love Bomb
Total earworm, super charming MV, with every release I like them more and more! La la love bomb, god, it’s in my head already.
April – Oh! My Mistake
Look at this homage to Clueless, LOOK AT IT!!! It just hits every note right without being slavish to the original and the song is so fun.
